Nationals Candidate for Page at the next Federal Election ![]() Few candidates could lay claim to having managed both a billion dollar trading portfolio and a class of fifteen year old students over the course of their career, but Kevin Hogan is not your average candidate.
In 1998, after thirteen years working in the city as a money market trader, Kevin and his wife Karen packed up and moved north to Karen’s home town of Clunes, in the hills above Lismore.
Like Karen, Kevin had grown up in the country (at Port Augusta, South Australia) and both agreed that when the time came they wanted to give their family the same quality of life that they had enjoyed in their own childhoods.
Kevin took up teaching, and spent seven years at St. Mary’s High School in Casino, where he taught Business Studies and Commerce and served for some time as acting Deputy Principal.
Kevin maintains a keen interest in business and economic policy, consulting to private companies and superannuation funds, but also enjoys the challenge of running a beef cattle property with Karen and their three children.
Kevin is actively involved in his local community, serving on the Clunes Public School P&C, as vice-president of his local tennis club and as a junior cricket coach. As a member of the Lismore City Council Wastewater Advisory Committee, he recognises the importance of a clean environment to the health of regional communities.
Kevin was preselected by The Nationals’ Page Electorate Council on the 28th of November.
